Lindy & Co Gourmet Dog Treats

Sunday, October 2nd, 2016

Lindy & Co Gourmet Dog Treats – the bakery employs homeless youth to produce their line of healthy homemade dog treats – with 100% of the proceeds going towards sheltering street youth.

I’ve never met a pickier dog than my new dog Etta. She takes hours to eat her breakfast everyday and some treats she’ll take in her mouth and then spit them out!! Guess she has a discerning palate! However, that NEVER happens with any of the dog treats from Lindy & Co. She loves them all (and will work hard for them too!). She gets the Cranberry flavored before bed (no reason other than the bag ended up in the bedroom) And we’ve been teaching her “down stay” with the peanutty puppers. (they work well since the peanutty puppers are nice and small). I give her the Carrot Cake flavor after meals for dessert. Again, she loves them all!!

Created by Daybreak – a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter, outreach programs, transitional housing, and other vital services to the Dayton, OH homeless and transient youth population – Lindy & Co may arguably make the most important dog treats you can purchase.

Assorted flavors range from vegetarian to gluten free to combos like Peanut Butter Bacon with 100% of proceeds from Lindy’s Bakery sales going directly to Daybreak, funding emergency shelter, housing, and support for over 500 homeless teens and young adults each year.

You can purchase these treats online: https://www.lindyandcompany.org/

Disclaimer: I was sent some bags if treats for my dog to try out. All words and opinions are my own (and my dog Etta’s)

Free Your Horses of Flies Naturally

FlyAway Garlic Treatment

Flies love to torment a horse, and if you spend a few minutes watching it you will clearly see this for yourself. Their mane will constantly flutter, the tail swooshing back and forth, the forever twitching body parts. Before you know it, the horses are doing a little dance just to keep the pestering flies away. Thankfully, there is a natural way to keep those annoying bugs away and also help promote a horse’s health in the process.

Fly Away Garlic
is an equine health supplement that will help you ward off these flies for good. All you do is mix it in with their grain at feeding time, and let the work begin. The supplement gets into the horse’s system, and eventually ends up as a substance in their piles that prevents the attraction of flies. The scent will also be absorbed in their body to potentially keep the pests from landing on them so much. I knew garlic kept vampires away, but I never knew it was a natural bug-be-gone too. What is great about this product is that it also gives your horse the benefits of garlic, such as supporting healthy immune and respiratory systems. With the antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties, it also gives you added protection against common diseases carried by nature’s other pests, the mosquito.

However, Be careful with this product as some people report that extensive use of garlic in performance horses can lead to anemia. Please check with your veterinarian and/or do more research on using garlic in horses before using.

Organic Cotton Quilted Car Seat Cover $68.00 at earthdoggy.com
My dog loves a good romp through mud puddles, rolling in a choice spot with just the right scent, and digging holes to “bury” her ball. When its time to head home she’ll leap up into the back seat with never a care about my nice upholstery – not her job! My dirty car seats would be much cleaner if I used this car seat cover from EarthDoggy. It not only protects the car seats but helps protect the earth by not using chemicals, it’s 100% organic, azo-free-dyed cotton. It has an adjustable quick-release straps that attach to the seat. Lightly padded. Machine Washable. Size 50″ x 54″. Available in tan and dove grey.

Your dog can help stop Global Warming with a Dog Powered Scooter

Friday, September 30th, 2016

Dog Powered ScooterImage what a world it would be if everyone got around on these? Hey, something like this used to work for the Eskimos maybe it will work for us if and when our oil supply runs out. Apparently, you just need to give a kick or two to help get the scooter going, then it only takes less than 5 pounds of pressure for the dog to keep it rolling along, dogs are able to keep it at speed because the scooter wheels have a very low rolling resistance.
At Dogpoweredscooter.com Single Dog System: $540 USD
